Mr. Shaller has served as arbitrator of labor and employment disputes in a wide variety of private and public sector cases. He is a member of many arbitrator rosters and permanent panels. Issues involved in recent cases include: discipline and discharge, discrimination, contract interpretation, employment contracts, seniority rights, overtime, bargaining unit work, performance evaluations, employee theft and dishonesty, workplace violence, promotion, overtime, drug and alcohol testing, drug and alcohol use, arbitrability, staffing, subcontracting/contracting out, reduction in force/layoff, health and insurance benefits, job classifications, schedules/assignments/bidding, past practice, management rights, employee benefits, ERISA.
Mr. Shaller has also served as arbitrator in employee benefits cases. These cases have included the resolution of Trustee deadlocks between Union and Employer Trustees of Benefit Trust Funds and withdrawal liability disputes.
